How To Start An Affiliate Marketing Business
Posted by Nathan Sloan in Featured How To, New People Start Here
I truly believe that affiliate marketing is one of the best places to begin online.
This was the business model that enabled me to replace my J.O.B income and become financially free.
Affiliate marketing is a very simple concept however it is defiantly not easy. This post is all about how to start an affiliate marketing business to help you get the right information from the start so that you can learn how to build a solid passive income stream for yourself.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Lets quickly take a look at what affiliate marketing is. Basically you sell other businesses products for them for a percentage of the sale. Many companies will give you 50% of the sale, which is like having your own product. The best thing about affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to deal with any delivery of the product or customer service. Your job is to get the product in front of the people who need it.
How To Start An Affiliate Marketing Business
Here are my 5 top tips for creating your own thriving affiliate marketing business. Note: Success is not going to just fall in to your lap. You are going to have to roll up your sleeves and put some work in, however if you do what I recommend, this is a massive opportunity that can transform your life. It all begins with the destination.
1. Set Your Income Goal
Most people make the mistake of just jumping in and start promoting products left right and center. Do not do this. You need a plan and a solid foundation first so that you can watch other people fail while you pass on by to success. First up. Set your income goal. How much are you trying to achieve? Know your yearly income goal and monthly target. Write them down. This is your destination which everything else is built on.
2. Get Leverage
This is a critical step for the beginner which most people do not do. Probably the reason why 95% of people fail. It’s about ‘getting leverage’ on your current situation first. You are going to need some money and time to invest each month. You do this by making a couple of cut backs and setting at least 20 hours per week where you will be working on your business.
When I first started I moved in to a smaller flat which gave me £200 extra income each month and I worked 7.30 pm to 10.pm week days after work and 4-8 hours every Saturday and Sunday. When you have 200-300 dollars or pounds excess each month and at least 20 hours per week that you can work on your business you have leveraged your current situation and have a solid foundation to build your dream.
3. Find A Super Affiliate
Next up. The problem is that there is TOO MUCH information out there and you really cannot afford to waste your time. The best thing you can do is to find and learn from a ‘Super Affiliate’. This is somebody that earns at least $100K per year with affiliate marketing. I can highly recommend the Swiss based Internet marketer Andy Grand. A genuinely nice guy and a Clickbank.com Super Affiliate. His
Super Affiliate Masterclass is still the best course I have done on affiliate marketing.
4. Consistent Action
By now you should have your income target. You have money to invest and time when you will be working on your business. You also have access to the very best information straight from the best. All you need to do now is to ‘Do the Work’. It’s time to take action. Put everything you have in to it and work fast. You are going to make mistakes which is normal. You just have to keep adjusting, pushing through boundaries and you will start to see success.
5. Focus on Mastery not Money
This last part is about focusing on becoming really good at business. Remember this: Your income is in direct comparison with your current knowledge and skill level. Aim for mastery. Constantly read books and take courses on business, sales, copywriting, marketing and you will succeed. Do not let anyone tell you that you can’t do this. Just because they can’t do it, doesn’t mean you can’t. If you have any questions, let me know. Now…Go crush it!

Very good post Nathan. Is the Super Affiliate Masterclass still good after Penguin and Panda?

Yes. I have found that many of my sites are ranking better because many affiliates got slapped.
