How To Put An Email Form in Your Blog Post
Posted by Nathan Sloan in How To
It used to be quite difficult to put an email form in your blog posts without having to mess around with HTML each time.
This quick post is all about the ‘easy way’ to put an email form inside your blog post and other places on your website.
The simple that I do it is through the WordPress plugin Optin Skin. I did a full video tutorial in my Optin Skin review, however here is why it is important to have several ways in which people can join your email list.
Why Put An Email Form In Your Blog Posts?
1. Make It Easy for your Readers
The first question is why you would even want to do this. It’s all about making it really easy for your website visitors to join your mailing list. It’s quite normal now to have your email form in your sidebar and maybe a special page just for optin’s but it’s also great to put a form below your post also. It is a technique used by the very best online marketers and companies. Take Amazon.com for example. They are great at having various call to actions on their sale pages.
2. Build Your Email List
It is well known that one of the best things you can do online is to build your email list. Remember though that it is not just about numbers. It is all about building a solid relationship of trust and respect with your readers. It’s about having a great relationship so that people know, like and trust you and are then happy to take recommendations from you. There is still no better way to contact 1000 people interested in what you have to say at a push of a button.
3. Stand Out From The Crowd
When it comes to business you always want to stand out from the crowd. Known also as your USP or Unique Selling Proposition. By understanding and using plugins like Optin Skin, you can get ahead of the crowd and start utilizing new technology long before they become mainstream. This not only gives you a competitive advantage, it also can double your email sign up conversion rates overnight.
4. Enjoy Higher Conversion Rates
If you have just written a really helpful post that is valuable to your reader then they will be much more inclined to want to get more information from you. Having your email form appear right at that point will give you double the conversion rate than just having a form constantly in your sidebar. Note: Just be sure that your blog posts are actually valuable to your readers and do improve their lives in some way.

Thanks Samuel. Yes Aweber is what I use. I’ve tried a few companies and they are definitely the best.
