So many people in business today cannot get their sales message in to just one sentence.
This is really important to be able to do because if people do not understand what you are trying to tell them in the first 3 minutes you are likely to lose them…probably forever!
This is all about how to improve your marketing message so that your customers understand why they should pay for your solutions and not your competitors.
This is a very important exercise called the ‘Elevator Chat’ that will help you keep your message very clear, concise and help you to increase your sales.
Your Elevator Chat
The elevator chat is a simple exercise that can really improve your marketing message. It important because people have a habit of making their messages too long and complicated to understand. What the elevator chat does is make your message really clear and simple to understand.
Here’s how it works. Pretend you are in an elevator with your ideal prospect. You now have three minutes to explain who you are and what your business does. It is natural for the first time for you to make the conversation 10x longer than it needs to be.
What Should I Say?
You should be able to say who you are, what you sell and why you are in this business. It must pass the ‘So What’ test. If someone can say ‘So What’ to anything that you say, it needs changing. The response you are looking for is ‘How do you do that?’ or ‘What do you mean by that?’. Once you get that response you can move to the next step.
