Hello and welcome to Internet Marketing To Freedom.
I created this website to show other people how to be able to replace the 9-5 income with online marketing.
I was able to go from complete beginner with zero business experience to financially free in just under two and a half years.
So how did I do it and more important is this something you could do?
My Story
I was actually a singer for nearly 10 years and was pretending to be a train in the musical ‘Starlight Express’ in Germany when I came across the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. This book was the worst and best thing that has ever happened to me. It created a massive problem in my life.
It was the first time that I stopped and noticed I was ‘selling my time for money’. I was self employed which is similar to being an employee where if I you stop working then you stop getting paid.
I had never even been aware of this problem before but it meant that I was never going to be able to make a lot of money or enjoy true freedom from my life until I found a way to stop selling time for money.
This sucked! I couldn’t believe that nobody had told me about this before. I thought it was just how everyone lived life but…it isn’t. Rich people do NOT do this.
The Biggest Decision of my Life
As soon as I learned that there was ‘another way’ to earn money without having to sell your time I became obsessed with figuring out how. I made the tough decision to walk away from my 10 year old profession, start again and with zero business experience, I made the decision to dedicate myself to learning Internet marketing and becoming financially free.
Year 1 – A New Beginning
I was now unemployed and living off unemployment money with some limited savings in the bank. I began taking courses, reading books and taking massive action on everything I was learning.
I was going at it full time (which was about 11am-4pm with my lazy habits at the time). After dedicating one whole year to learning and studying from some top online marketers, can you guess what happened?
yep…I ran out of money and was forced in to taking my first ever 9-5 job as an employee.
I thought it would be a good strategy to get a job in my new found career choice and managed to get an ‘SEO assistant’ role at a local designer glasses shop in London.
Fortunately for me this particular local business did not really know how to get on to the front page of Google and I did. In the first 12 months at the company I was able to double their sales with my new Internet marketing skills.
Year 2 – The Hardest Year of my Life
For me this was the most challenging year of my life so far. I was working 9-6 and then getting home and working on my own stuff from 7-10 while filling in the remaining time by cramming my brain with books, courses and listening to audios traveling to and from work.
I am not going to lie, it was tough. I was completely out of my comfort zone, tired, stressed and completely changing 28 year old habits. I had never had to get up this early in my life and it hurt.
For the local business however it was going great, with my rapidly improving skills I had managed to double the business again for a second year running bringing them in to a Million pound turnover (while continuing to grow my business on the side.)
Year 3 – Financial Freedom
This was the year when everything started to click for me and I began to make big breakthroughs in my own business. I remember thinking that my 3rd year was how I thought my first year was going to be.
It was fun, exciting and my body was used to getting up early so I wasn’t tired all the time. I can tell you that is the best feeling in the world hearing your phone go ‘Cha Ching’ every time you make a new sale. It was awesome.
I used the money from my job to get 1-1 weekly coaching from a very successful marketer and within 6 months of my third year I had managed to replace my J.O.B income and became financially free. Challenging? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely!
Could I Have Done It Quicker?
In hindsight yes. I did do a lot of things in my first year that I never should have been doing including trying to do several different business modals at the same time.
I can’t stress how important it is to get coaching as soon as you can. It can literally take years off your learning curve and save you from doing things you really should not be doing.
